Boosting Immunity Naturally

by Stephanie Yeh

With all the recent concern over West Nile, SARS, and biological warfare, there's no time like the present to boost your immune system - naturally! Our bodies are perfectly designed organisms with built-in defense systems. Unfortunately, exposure to man-made toxins, stress, poor diet and a host of other living conditions often overwhelm our immune systems. The good news is that you can take simple steps to enhance your immune system:

  • Drink Pure Water:
As often as possible, take in pure, fresh water that is untouched by chlorine. Our bodies need water to flush toxins, move the lymph, and fight invaders.
  • Get Plenty of Rest:
In a world filled with workaholics, sleeping 8 hours a day might seem excessive, but studies have shown that people who take the time to rest their bodies and minds have stronger immune systems that are capable of fighting off more diseases.
  • Help Your Body:
Sometimes our bodies need a little help! Adding Cell Tech's ImmuSun, made from brewer's yeast, can kick-start a stressed-out immune system into high gear.
  • Nature's Antibiotic:
In a world faced with antibiotic-resistant viruses and bacteria, going back to nature may be the answer. Probiotics such as Cell Tech's acidophilus and bifidus are what our bodies use to fight off disease. Increasing probiotics can actually increase the level of your immune system. Most artificial antibiotics actually suppress your immune system.
  • Antioxidants:
For a more specific approach to immunity, try adding antioxidants to your daily regimen, such as Cell Tech's CoEnzyme Q10 or Super Sprouts and Algae (wheat sprouts). These supplements search the body for free radicals and get rid of them, reducing the workload of your immune system.
